Mundane Monday Morning Music: The Beatles – “Got to Get You Into My Life”

Morning Readers!

I have been away fro such a long time! Kids being sick for practically a month kept me away for so long. I knew I couldn’t stay away for another Monday morning without sharing a MMMM song.

It’s a gray day here in my neck of the woods. It is also the last Monday of winter!!!! You have no idea just how exciting this is for me. The snow and ice are beginning to disappear, and warmer weather is ushering out the cold breezes we had this winter. I want to start seeing grass and flowers popping out of the ground and begin to enjoy my backyard more.

Since I want spring and the sun to come back into my world, I thought that The Beatles’ “Got to Get You Into My Life” would be a great pick! It’s peppy, upbeat and it’s helping me shoo winter away to make way for spring. I also love this song because my kids love this song of the from The Beatles’ Revolver album and because of the Minions Movie.

So I hope that “Got to Get You Into My Life” lifts the gray skies and bring spring into your mundane Monday morning today! It already has for me!

Until my next post, Readers!

Mundane Monday Morning Music: The Rolling Stones – ”(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”

Mornin’ Readers!

We’ve hit the middle of the summer, and it has been scorching hot around here! It has made getting sleep a little tougher and being outside harder to bear.

This morning was not a fun one, either. I was awoken by one of the ”Bosses” at 4:30 AM, and it took a while to fall back asleep, so I am not in the greatest of moods today. I had a song in mind for today’s MMMM pick, but at last minute, I decided to go in a different different direction. This week, I chose  The Rolling Stones’ ”(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” because, well, the title sums everything up nicely. I need to get in a good mood, and this song is helping me turn my frown upside-down while I get through the rest of my day.

Hopefully, ”(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” can help you feel better about whatever comes your way on this mundane Monday morning!

Until my next post, Readers!

Mundane Monday Morning Music: The Birthday Edition

Morning Readers!

As spring is now upon us and the Easter Weekend comes to an end, I am so happy that I am getting to start to celebrate my birthday this week! I like doing little things over the next week to make my birthday feel that much more fun and special.

Reese Speaks Birthday Pic 2

For this week’s MMMM, I decided to choose a few of my fav B-Day songs that are fun and will start off this week in an awesome way!

I love the Beatles, and the “Birthday” song from The Beatles or “The White Album” is a fun one to listen to!

For more of a chair-dancing experience, I added Katy Perry’s “Birthday” song. Who would not want to be treated like every day is your birthday?!

Of course, being the HUGE Stevie Wonder fan I am, I HAD to had his version of “Happy Birthday” on this list of birthday songs!” A birthday is not a birthday for me listening to it about 40 times on repeat! 😛

It will be a fun week, and I can’t wait until the big day arrives and all of the surprises that are in store for me. These songs are certainly putting me into the birthday spirit!

I hope that these songs make your day a little bit brighter and make you smile today!

What is your favourite version of “The Birthday Song” to hear on your special day?

Mundane Monday Morning Music: Otis Redding – Merry Christmas Baby!

Morning, Readers!

December is now upon us, and you know what that means…Christmas is just around the corner! Even though it doesn’t look like it yet here in Ottawa, the Christmas season is upon us, and I love it! We still don’t have any decorations up yet, but this will be done by the end of the week!

Today is also a special day for me. It’s my mom’s birthday! I love this woman to pieces, and I’m a little blue that I’m not with her on her special day. I called here a few minutes ago to ask her what her favourite Christmas song was since I’m officially kicking off the Christmas season on my blog today. Since she couldn’t choose, as she loves Christmas more than I do, I chose an old-school R&B Christmas song that I thought she would love to listen to today. I chose “Merry Christmas Baby” by Otis Redding. It works great for today because it’s got a great beat, it’s fun, it makes me smile and it’s about Christmas!

I hope that “Merry Christmas Baby” starts off your holiday season off right, and that it makes you smile on this mundane Monday morning!

Mundane Monday Morning Music: Spencer Davis Group – “Gimmie Some Lovin'”

Hey Hey Readers!

At first, it didn’t feel as though it was a Monday morning, that is until my “bosses” got to work and went into their usual seagulls routine of “Mine! Mine!” (watch Disney’s Finding Nemo and you’ll get it!). Now that things have cooled down, I can finally focus on getting some work done!

That being said, I actually picked this week’s Mundane Monday Morning Music selection last Wednesday while I was at the movies. I heard this song, and it was perfect song to get going to. It’s “Gimmie Some Lovin'” by the Spencer Davis Group. I haven’t heard this song in a while, but I love this song! It’s so happy and peppy, I always have to shimmy along to the rhythm of this song. One day, I will get all of the lyrics down pat, too! ;P

I hope this beautiful Monday morning gives you some lovin’ after listening to this 60’s tune!

Until my next post, Readers!

Mundane Monday Morning Music: The Rolling Stones – Paint It Black

Morning Readers!

It’s the beginning of Valentine’s Day week, you know, the time to scramble and get that something special for the one you love. I know I should have chosen a song about love, but that can wait for the actual day.

For this mundane Monday morning I wanted to start it off with a song that has been in my head that got me going every morning since I started staying up late watching the Olympics this past weekend. I think that Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones fits the bill perfectly! It’s fun, it has an amazing rhythm, and even though it’s about lost love, it makes up for its darkness, for me, by giving off the opposite effect by being so high energy. I don’t know anyone who falls into sadness by listening to this song!

I hope you feel the same effect I do when you start chair dancing to this song this morning!

Until my next post, Readers!
